I think i screwed todays physics lab practical up. I had a slight headache, my correction tape went bust, and I used the wrong units for the table. Everything went haywire. Amazingly, my answer tallied with the majority. I dont know for sure how I will do, but I dont really care. Im like in still in the holiday mood after my camp, or rather already in the holiday mood since the holidays have yet to begin.
Yesterday I was really tired cause I only slept 4 hours during the camp. Well, its normal to forego sleep in certain cases. When I came home, I was still alright, so I went to play (nothing else I could think of doing other than work). I was thinking of doing work and writing at night but once I confronted the work from my two days absence in school, I just switched off. After staring into space for two hours, I knocked off into bed. Today the whole day I couldnt pay attention at all. Holiday mood hur.
Ok, lets recount. We left the church by bus at 8.30 and departed for CSC. Upon arrival, we were shown our domitories. They were not bad, considering the air-conditioning and size and all. I heard the girls dorms were much smaller, like 3-4 beds to a room, whereas we were all in the same room. Well, the boys are greatly outnumbered like twice or thrice, so maybe thats why.
First activity of the day was a talk and group discussions, the normal stuff. I dont want to be like spamming content down here. Theres no point anyway. After that, we had lunch, which comprised pasta and potato salad. All the meals were quite delicious, and my group facilitator always made it a point that we ate together as a group.
After lunch, the rest of the people changed up and played their outdoor activities. I played safe and didnt play in case of tearing open the wound. The first activity was captains ball, except that they replaced the ball with papaya. LOL, so papaya seeds occasionally rained down on them. The other activity was simply put, splashing people with small buckets of water. Lol, I have no idea what that was about. While the rest were playin their games, Adel came and gave me some really good advice. She had a sudden rash flare and had to see the doc. Then everyone went to wash up. I did too.
At roughly 5.00, we all got ready for mass. It was held at the Church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary, which was just beside the centre. I guess it was a new experience for some, but I had already been to a mass quite a few times. Dinner was great as I said. We had fried rice and bee hoon which were provided by the guest speakers, who were also the trainers of our facilitators. They gave the second talk later in the night, and it was followed by some group prayer thing. I witnessed something quite incredible. One of the facilitators just fell to the ground after praying. Like what I said last time, hearing is one thing, seeing is another. That was quite shocking for me. That too, made me doubt how sure I was of myself. As the late night movie was being screened, I got a bit crazy. Lol, nothing happened though. Not everyone wanted to sleep, so Dominic the Joker just shared with us his stories, as well as his knowledge. We had many good laughs and turned in at 2.30.
I woke up at 6.40am to an aching stomach and went to pass it out, of course. So theres my four hours of sleep. Then the rest of the earlybirds sat around and just talked. I remained quite silent throughout. My usual nature. We had breakfast earlier than the preset time. No harm done. The facilitators managed the third round of talks and group discussions, conveniently acting out a skit which was quite funny. We had an hour before lunch to roam around but my group facilitator, temporary one since my group joined another and he sort of became the overall leader, suggested that we sat together again. I had quite a good talk with him as I had with Adel. I learned a lot from both of them, since they were among the oldest there, being in their low 20s.
Finally, to end off, there was the testimony session which lasted about an hour or so. Almost everyone shared their experience at the camp and I did too. Some were short maybe cause they didnt know what to say, while others were quite honest and meaningful. There was the hugging thing too, in which people just came up to the person who just shared to give him or her an encouraging hug. I was quite contented. To round up, everyone reveal their secret penpal to whom they would write encouraging or just friendly notes. Time was up and set off for church.
I think this camp has really been an experience for me, like I said in my testimony. I made a lot of new friends and also learned a lot of not exactly my faith but how the others held their faiths. Shant write too much on this or it might seem too long-winded.
If there were another camp, I would definitely go for it. I know some people attend one like often so regularly, but my first church camp was great.
Thanks to those who wished me on my birthday, and Vincent for the teeny-weenie yet wonderful present!
